Deborah P. Poole, DDS
Practice Owner
Deborah P. Poole is also referred to as Dr. Deb and was formerly Dr. Ho (maiden name). Originally from Arkansas, she attended the University of Arkansas and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. She then graduated from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 2015. After she received her Doctorate in Dental Surgery, Dr. Deb took a leap of faith and moved to Maui, Hawaii. She has been practicing general dentistry since 2015 from regions such as the Westside in Lahaina to Central Maui in both Wailuku and Kahului in which she has established rapport with patients that come from all over the island in both private practice offices and community clinics.
Dr. Poole is a proud member of a worldwide selective group, Seattle Study Club, which is made of less than thirty dentists from Maui. Driven by her mentors and a deep passion for oral health, she has been apart of the teaching faculty at the University of Hawaii Maui College’s Dental Hygiene Program. She met her husband on island and they currently have two children and expecting their third baby November 2025. Dr. Deb is excited to continue growing deeper roots in Maui by opening her own dental practice and looking forward to long-lasting relationships with those she serves.
Samantha
Front Office and Clinical Assistant
Samantha joined Upcountry Dentistry after returning to Hawaii from New Zealand. She is certified in Basic Life Support and brings over 8 years of dental field experience to our office. Sam makes it her top priority to ensure that patients receive the best care possible and she is always there to offer a listening ear. Sam was recently accepted to the Dental Hygiene program at UHMC and will be graduating Spring 2027. In her spare time, Sam is an avid golfer, traveler, reader and enjoys spending time with her husband, Adam.
Destiny
Clinical Assistant
Destiny began her dental career on the Big Island, where she spent three years as a front office assistant. What initially started as part-time role quickly grew into a true passion as she discovered her love for dentistry and patient care. After relocating to Maui in 2023, she transitioned into the clinical side of dentistry to gain a more hands-on experience and broaden her knowledge. Regardless of her role in the office, Destiny is dedicated to making every patient feel comfortable, cared for, and valued. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors and caring for her animals.
Maile
Registered Dental Hygienist
Maile was born and raised on the island of Maui and graduated from Maui School. She earned her Associate in Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Miami Dade College in 2008. When Maile is not at work, she keeps busy with her 2 kids’ school and sport activities. She also loves Latin dancing, traveling, spending time with her family and all beach activities.
